The Marienville Community came together this month to do a much needed project. The Jenks Township Train Station needed a new roof and with local donations and manpower, the job got done! Bob & Teresa Wolfgang coordinated businesses and local help to donate materials and time to removing shingles, repairing rotted boards and installing new shingles to the Station. Jenks Township also received a generous donation of $5,000 from the Forest County Commissioners for the roof repair. The Station was recently purchased, through a grant, by Jenks Township with the plan to restore the building and use it as a recreational hub for Marienville. The central location is ideal for the hub to provide information on trail access for snowmobiles and ATV’s along with hiking, biking and walking trails. Jenks Township would like to thank the Forest County Commissioners, Bob & Teresa Wolfgang, K&S Contracting- Ken and Shawn Schaeffer, Snyder Construction, Zimmerman Lumber, Marienville Home Improvement, Joe Rodgers, Barb Kuhl, Leonard Nicklas, Dale Nicklas, Phillip Nicklas and all that worked and donated!
